Hatstand Becomes a Member of the FISD Executive Committee
Hatstand is pleased to announce that the Financial Information Services Association of SIIA (FISD) has welcomed the company onto its Executive Committee.
FISD is a global non-profit industry forum that has served the financial information industry for 25 years. Its 184 global member companies recognise that market data distribution, efficient trade execution, and regulatory compliance require a high level of consistent and predictable service - all of which are dependent on the close cooperation of many independent organisations and systems.
A key activity within FISD is the development and advocacy of best practice recommendations (BPRs). The BPRs set a basic standard of consistency and efficiency for industry policies and practices. BPRs also represent a consensus resulting from significant discussion and debate of individuals representing a diverse spectrum of FISD member firms.
In its role as a neutral industry forum, FISD creates and manages working group discussions that review and seek to identify consensus on issues related to financial information. By participating in working groups its members have a hand on the pulse of industry issues. In addition, the forum assists its members in a variety of areas including:
- Serving as an industry advocate for standard, transparent and efficient flow of financial information
- Supporting them in dealing with regulatory issues
Keith Delmarco, Global Head of Data Management at Hatstand comments: “As a company, we want to ensure that we provide our clients with first-hand information regarding industry best practice and the initiatives being developed around the wide range of commercial, technical, and regulatory issues that face the financial information industry.
“Being part of the FISD Executive Committee enables us to assist in reviewing and approving new initiatives and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank FISD and its existing members for granting Hatstand a seat on the Committee.”
The FISD Executive Committee meets at least quarterly, but more frequent meetings may be called to address pressing issues.
Hatstand’s Amanda Webb joins Keith Delmarco as the company’s two designate people to sit on the committee and they will serve a two year term until 31/12/17.
