Hatstand joins Cybersecurity Panel at the FISD's General Meeting
Hatstand, a Financial Information Services Association of SIIA (FISD) member, are pleased to announce that its Global Head of Regulation and Risk, Lisa Toth, will be a panellist at the general meeting & networking reception in New York on Thursday, 16th June.
Joining the debate at 2:25pm-3:15pm, Lisa will be part of a panel discussing how cyber attacks on firms in our industry are increasing across all sectors and how it’s vital that the financial information industry is more diligent now than ever before in maintaining a strong defense against those that aim to harm us.
The session will identify the entities who seek disruption (and why they do so), the cooperation and collaboration among firms in our industry, and what are the most important objectives for you and your colleagues to achieve in order to keep these hackers at bay.
Lisa Toth comments: "Cybersecurity is something that should be viewed as part of the overall enterprise risk management of a business, and financial institutions and other organisations really need to be identifying their possible risks, assessing the likelihood of the event occurring and preparing their response(s). Once armed with this information, they can then determine their risk tolerance and prioritise their cybersecurity counter-measures.
"This is an iterative process that needs to be continuously reviewed and updated as the environment is constantly changing, and I'm looking forward to joining discussions on the steps organisations must take to protect their business."
The FISD is a global non-profit industry forum that has served the financial information industry for 25 years. Its 184 global member companies recognise that market data distribution, efficient trade execution, and regulatory compliance require a high level of consistent and predictable service - all of which are dependent on the close cooperation of many independent organisations and systems.
