Technical Analyst – SQL - Investment Banking - London  

Hatstand, a global financial technology consultancy, is seeking a technical Analyst to work for a Tier 1 investment bank.  

Hatstand – a Synechron company is a Global Financial Consultancy and Capital Markets Specialist. We operate in three key areas of financial markets: Trading - Systems & Connectivity, Data Management and Regulation & Risk. This vacancy is part of the Hatstand Green Beret Programme, our unique talent development programme which is aimed at recent graduates with 2- 4 years of work experience.  

We are currently looking for a Technical Analyst to work alongside developers in a global team for a Tier 1 investment bank. This team provides technology solutions for Rates and Credit Trading: an area which uses both bespoke and vendor front to back trading applications. All systems will be undergoing change due to the requirements of MiFID II. A particular area of development work is around the interaction of the systems with Golden Source reference data.The role will involve working closely with a market leading vendor application (written in Java) and will involve the analysis of development problems in order to discover origin and cause. 

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys problem solving with technology. You must have a good understanding of databases, how data is stored and retrieved and how to write queries. You should have a familiarity with Linux/UNIX and have basic scripting skills. 

You will have studied a scientific subject at university and may have taught yourself coding in order to improve a processor solve a problem. You will be curious, keen to learn and develop and like to to challenge yourself. 

As this role will involve working closely with developers you should have experience of working with Agile, understanding of SDLC and excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a team.  

You must have the legal right to work in the UK from the date of commencement.
