Junior Core Java Developer

Hatstand, a global financial consultancy, is seeking a Junior Project Manager for one its high profile clients in the City. This vacancy is part of the Hatstand Green Beret Programme, our unique talent development programme which arms talented graduates with the skills and experience necessary to craft a career in the competitive financial sector.

We are currently looking for a Java Developer to join Hatstand as a Junior Consultant to work for a Tier 1 investment bank. You would be working in their cash equities IT maintaining and developing state of the art trading systems. You will be doing Core Java development and will have Fundamentals of Agile and Test-driven development. Whilst technical ability is crucial to the role we are looking for a self-starter who can demonstrate a solution driven attitude to technology and an enthusiasm for team work. 

To be successful in this role you must have solid understanding of Java SE and hands-on experience in full development lifecycle. A good knowledge of Object Oriented Principles is a must. You will also have experience of multi-threading, familiarity with Unix, a strong knowledge of relational database design and implementation and excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a team.
